ISI behind Kanpur train accidents: Bihar police

The Bihar police on Tuesday said they were investigating a possible Inter-Service Intelligence role in Patna-Indore Express derailment in Kanpur in November, The Indian Express reported.

"We arrested Umashankar Patel, Moti Paswan and Mukesh Yadav in connection with the murders of Arun Ram and Deepak Ram".

On Wednesday, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju suggested that he does not want to jump to conclusions and link Pakistani ISI with the Kanpur train accident which took place on 20 November previous year.

At the time, a fault in the tracks was thought to be the cause of the accident.

Nepalese police are also interrogating the three other outlaws- Brij Kishore Giri, Mujahir Ansari and Shambhu Giri- presently in custody of Nepalese police for their involvement in the derailment of trains and their suspected links with ISI. RPF is also in touch with the Bihar police and is coordinating efforts to reach the bottom of the conspiracy. Central security agencies were now looking for two more persons identified as Gajendra Sharma and Rakesh Yadav in East Champaran area for their suspected links with the accused.
