Megyn Kelly Likely to Take Over 'Today' Show Hour this Fall

Kelly will formally join NBC in May, according to the trade paper.

Hall's contract is coming up and NBC News is in negotiations with her reps.

Sources close to the network told the New York's Post's Page Six that Kelly - who announced she would join NBC this month after more than a decade at Fox - is expected to take over either the 9 a.m. Today hour, now hosted by Tamron Hall and Al Roker, or else the 10 a.m. hour, now hosted by Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford.

The segment Kelly will likely replace is the 9 am hour, Today's Take, which has seen a number of shake-ups in the past year-from my sweet prince Willie Geist's departure for MSNBC over the summer to Billy Bush's ill-fated stint.

Multiple outlets are reporting that the former Fox News anchor will take over the 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. slot this fall.

Page Six also reported that Hall is expected to leave NBC next month when her contract expires. And she is expected to officially start at NBC News in May. The third hour was beating every syndicated show across the board.

Sources inside NBC News disputed the notion that the 9 a.m. hour would be "canceled" to make room for Kelly.
