Will Melania Trump live in the White House? Here's what we know

A report from WWD tips that American brand Ralph Lauren may actually be the brand that Melania will be strutting in her husband's big day. Ahead of this Friday's inauguration, two designers have been selected as the frontrunners for the unofficial post.

Lauren was extensively linked to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's team during her election campaign and is credited for styling Clinton in memorable red, white and blue pantsuits. Hererra said she would happily accept the chance to see Melania wear her ladylike and sophisticated designs.

But others think she'll more likely choose an American designer, perhaps Ralph Lauren, whose designs she wore in the campaign.

Lauren, 77, is reportedly in the midst of designing several ensemble pieces for Mrs. Trump, including a gown and a selection of outfits to be worn throughout the weekend's festivities.

The designers Trump wears this week are guaranteed immeasurable publicity. Lagerfeld is the head of Chanel and Fendi, as well as his own label, so Trump could wear any one of these houses should the rumors about the designer dressing her be true.

Seven suspects have been released including a chauffeur who was used by Kardashian during her stay. Both worked for the same vehicle service company, but Michael Madar was freed earlier this week.

"She has those impossibly high four-inch, towering stilettos", he told the Times' Maureen Dowd. The brand's aesthetic has been seen as a ideal choice for the Trumps, representing "a highly sophisticated, idealized version of the American dream", according to The Guardian. During Donald Trump's victory address, the lady was seen looking elegant and handsome in a Ralph Lauren one-shoulder jumpsuit.

Other contenders include Karl Lagerfeld and Tommy Hilfiger, who has publicly complimented the first lady.

Melania will go back and forth from NY to Washington D.C. until June, when she and her ten-year-old son will move from their Trump Tower penthouse to the White House.

"This is the first time that this moment is being used by professionals and people in the fashion industry as an opportunity to put their political views out there in public", he said. Everyone was very happy to dress Michelle [Obama] as well. "I just knew it looked handsome on her". "You're not gonna get much more handsome than Ivanka or Melania".
