Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm advance to Match Play final

Phil Mickelson has'Bones keep flag out... for imaginary putt @KaylorSteger

Dustin Johnson survived his biggest test of a long week in Austin as he edged into the final of the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.

The world No 1, bidding to become the first player to win all four current World Golf Championship events, looked on course for another comfortable win when he holed a 35-foot putt for eagle at the sixth and then birdied the seventh to go three up.

But Tanihara was unable to sink his birdie putt to prolong the match, enabling Johnson to recover by salvaging par and setting up an eagerly-anticipated showdown with Rahm.

Rahm gave away three straight holes by missing par putts from 6 feet and 8 feet, and missing a birdie putt from four feet. In the other semi-final, the formidable Jon Rahm, of Spain, plays American Bill Haas.

Tanihara hit an eight iron from 207 yards that rolled into the hole - only the fourth hole-in-one in the history of the WGC Match Play - to go two up at the turn, but Haas fought back on the back nine.

"But then it's great to win three tournaments in a row and it shows I am playing pretty well".

Alaska Airlines To Drop Virgin America Brand by 2019
All its staff on the front line will receive new uniforms that are designed by Luly Yang , the well-known fashion designer. Since the acquisition, Alaska Air Group has been running the two carriers as distinct subsidiary airlines.

"I was tested a lot out there but then I didn't give him any holes except for the 10th where I three-putted", he said.

The 22-year-old Rahm, who won his first Tour title at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in January, also announced himself as a possible contender at the Masters.

The withdrawal is not all that surprising, especially considering what Johnson said Sunday evening in Austin: "I don't know".

It was the second time, Johnson was brought to the 18th hole on Sunday. He also became the first player to win all four WGC tournaments. He will face a determined longshot in 38-year-old Tanihara, who dispatched England's Ross Fisher 4 and 2 in the quarter-finals after defeating England's Paul Casey 2 and 1 in the round of 16.

He previously won the Mexico Championship, Bridgestone Invitational and HSBC Champions.

Johnson, who lost to Noren in the first round of the 2013 WGC Match Play, answered with birdies at 13, 15 and 16 to seal the win. "He's been out on Tour for nine months and his divisor is the same for a two-year divisor".
