8-year-old girl found living with monkeys in forest

Jungle book in real life! 8-year-old girl found living with monkeys

An eight-year-old girl who walks on all fours and is unable to talk has been found living with monkeys in India.

This girl was found in the Katarniaghat forests of Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, India about two months ago. She was found with a troop of monkeys.

Police officer Dinesh Tripathi said: "When he called the girl, the monkeys attacked him but he was able to rescue the girl". The monkeys joined in the commotion and it took a "great effort" for the girl to be hauled away from the animals and taken to the district hospital near the city of Bahraich.

She would eat food without using her hand.

"She is still not able to speak, but understands whatever you tell her and even smiles", said D.K. Singh, chief medical superintendent of the hospital.

Notably, the girl was found to be comfortable in the company of the apes.

Police seek carjacking suspect who was doused with gasoline
Police continue to search for a man accused of carjacking a woman at a gas station in Tewksbury during the weekend. Police briefly chased the vehicle in Lowell, but the auto was abandoned, and Tighe allegedly ran away from police.

Media outlets are drawing comparisons between the girl and Mowgli, a fictional character and protagonist from Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book series. "He sped away with her in his police vehicle while the monkeys gave chase", Tripathi said.

They also said that the girl can neither speak nor behave like human beings and sometimes walks on all fours.

'She might have eaten what animals did.

Doctors told the Times she is often violent and is scared by the presence of other humans.

"We have asked that she be placed in the juvenile court, from where she can get some future direction and be re-integrated into the society". "Now she is better and healthy, showing improvement", added the CMO.
