Cosby's accuser denies they were romantically involved

Bill Cosby has arrived at a suburban Philadelphia courthouse for the third day of his sexual assault trial.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys have battled back and forth, arguing whether Constand and Cosby had a romantic relationship, which would negate her claims of an assault.

The then-30-year-old director of women's basketball at Temple University - where Cosby was serving on the board of trustees - said she had asked the television star if the pills were herbal and he indicated that they were. Johnson, her mother, Patrice Sewell, and her lawyer, Joseph Miller, were permitted to take the witness stand to offer details of Cosby's alleged violation of Johnson while she was an employee of the William Morris Agency, according to Jezebel.

Breaking down in tears, she told the courtroom, "They were good friends".

When Gianna Constand heard about her daughter's accusation of sexual assault against Bill Cosby in early 2005, she quickly confronted the comedian during an nearly two-hour phone call.

The phone calls lasted less than a minute and involved leaving a message for him, records show.

For months, Cosby's topflight defense lawyers - and even a former Montgomery County district attorney who once investigated her claim - had vowed that her credibility had been irreparably harmed by the way she acted, and the shifting stories she gave police, in the months after her alleged 2004 attack.

Under cross-examination from the defense at the end of the day or what she called "testing my memory about irrelevant things", the testimony of Gianna Constand concluded just after 5:16 PM ET.

Defense lawyer Angela Agrusa homed in on successive statements that Constand gave to law enforcement in January and February 2005 - a year after the alleged assaut - as the 79-year-old disgraced megastar sat in court looking away from his accuser.
