Lake Fire in Castaic Now 60 Percent Contained

Wildfire burns on edge of Castaic Lake. Saturday

Firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Angeles National Forest are battling a brush fire near Lake Castaic in dry, unpredictable conditions, authorities said. Over the weekend, fire officials had said the wildfire scorched 1,000 acres.

The fire is in an area with hard access near the Golden State (5) Freeway and Ridge Route Road, LACFD Capt. Ron Singleton told City News Service.

The fire destroyed two outbuildings, and one firefighter battling the flames was taken to the hospital with minor injures.

The fire was first reported around 2 p.m., and initial reports said it had grown from 5 acres to 175 acres. It started on a bank of Castaic Lake and the cause was under investigation. We're encouraging them to drink lots of water and electrolytes.

An updated figured from Angeles National Forest officials might not be released until early evening, depending on the progress.

Fabinho would find Manchester United switch 'very tempting'
The player fuelled these rumours on Thursday night, when he confirmed he would be open to a move to Old Trafford. Would Fabinho fit in at Man Utd? "But it's a great club, sure enough I would think well about it".

The officer's main defense was that he thought that Castile was reaching for his gun instead of his license and registration. Her 4-year-old daughter was sitting in the back seat of the vehicle when Office Jeronimo Yarez opened fire on Castile.

But the report will carry considerable weight in a country where about 40 per cent of the population identifies as Catholic.

Some firefighters were transported across the lake in boats, according to the Angeles National Forest.

By just after 4 p.m., the fire had burned more than 500 acres and was at zero percent containment despite fixed-wing aircraft called to the scene. "The firefighters will be out there, but there will be no shade for them".

L.A. County fire officials are reporting the Lake Fire has reached 550 acres.

By mid-Sunday morning, firefighters were working to tackle the east side of the fire as winds remained calm at four to eight miles per hour.

The exponential fire growth that occurred on Saturday was partly due to the tall grass that thrived in the recent rains.
