"Listing a male player on a girls team roster is a violation of state and tournament rules", said the soccer club.

Something tells us Hernandez would trade all those accolades for the opportunity to play with her club and compete for the Springfield tourney title. A registrar's error which listed Hernandez as a boy convinced organizers her team had broken the rules, even though her father showed them her health insurance card as proof of her gender.

Several prominent women's soccer players are voicing their support for Hernandez on social media, including Abby Wambach and Mia Hamm, the top two goal scorers in USA women's national team history.

WOWT-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2sc1tt9 ) Mili Hernandez's team had advanced to the finals of the tournament when it was suddenly disqualified.

"Just because I look like a boy doesn't mean I am a boy", she explained. As any child would do, Mili cried for her team after the organizers alerted the team.

"When my hair starts to grow I put it short because I've always had short hair", she said.
