Fans Give Packers Player Ride To Green Bay After He Misses Connection In Minneapolis

Two die hard Green Bay Packers fans have a road trip to remember after answering the call of a player in need of a ride to Lambeau Field.

Green Bay Packers cornerback Davon House found himself in a conundrum Monday night: He was sitting in the Minneapolis airport after missing his connection to Green Bay with OTAs the next day. Before he was wheels down, House sent out the following tweet. That was part of the discussion House had with his drivers, brothers Chad and Mike Johnson, on their four-plus-hour ride from Minneapolis to Green Bay that ended at 3:30 a.m.

"They were awed and amazed", House said about the brothers' reaction to being at the stadium.

"It tells you about his commitment - both from our fans and Davon", McCarthy said Tuesday via ESPN.

The impromptu hitchhike worked out perfectly for all parties involved, though.

When they got House to his vehicle at Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay, House insisted the brothers follow him to the stadium. Turns out kindness does pay off sometimes.

Explained House, who spent the past two seasons in Jacksonville: "Now that I'm here, I'm not taking any days for granted".

"I'm exhausted; I'm exhausted", House said afterward. "He knows the importance of it. (Practice) is so limited at this time of the year". You never want to miss an install day.

Chad was closer to the airport so he made his way to the airport to pick up House. "I think Davon obviously showed the importance of being here". The deal included a $150,000 workout bonus, so House had incentive to be back at Lambeau Field for Tuesday's voluntary OTA. "I flew into Minneapolis many years ago - probably six years ago - and they were having a near-tornado experience".
