She is being held in the Lincoln County Jail. Victor charged with leaking USA government secrets to a reporter poses no flight risk if she's released from pre-trial confinement, her parents said Wednesday, June 7, 2017, though they fear prosecutors will seek to use the case to send a tough message from the Trump administration.

Victor is accused of "removing classified material from a government facility and mailing it to a news outlet", a violation of the Espionage Act, according to a criminal complaint.

In a court affidavit filed late Tuesday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said it seized Winner's USA passport, two spiral-bound notebooks, two laptop computers and a Department of Defense-issued country handbook for Iran.

The 25-year-old leaked the top-secret report to The Intercept, who subsequently published the classified material after victor allegedly sent it to the online news outlet by mail.

A federal court hearing has been scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday in Augusta concerning her detention.

Victor allegedly told her mother that she needed to "go nuclear with the press" if she didn't get bond because that's how Chelsea Manning got out.

"I don't know that she did this, none of this matches", Winner-Davis said.

Winner's mother and stepfather told the judge she had no criminal history and they would use their 20-acre home in Kingsville, Texas, to finance her bond with confidence she would never run.

No matter one's opinions on the propriety of the charges against her, we should all agree victor should be released on bail pending trial.

Not long after top-secret documents from the National Security Agency made their way onto the Internet news site The Intercept on Monday, the Justice Department arrested NSA contractor Reality Winner.

Victor was likely caught due to some apparent oversights in The Intercept's source verification process. She is an Air Force Veteran who speaks three other languages: Dari, Farsi, and Pashto. At one point she wrote, "I want to burn the White House down ... find somewhere in Kurdistan to live". She has no record.

According to an article published by The Intercept on June 5, the NSA report states Russian military intelligence officials executed a cyberattack on a US voting software supplier and sent spear-phishing emails to more than 100 local election officials days before last November's presidential election.

Winner's Attorney, Titus Thomas Nichols, said in an interview that his client was a "good person" and will remain in federal custody until Thursday.

"Yes, she reached out to The Intercept twice on her personal time on her personal computer", Winner-Davis said.

Victor reportedly coached her mother to say she was "scared" that she would "disappear" after she was interrogated on Saturday. Victor also was a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement and had said on Twitter that "being white is terrorism".

Victor is a former Air Force linguist who now works as a USA government contractor.

Actually she used to take the original documents and sell it to the news outlet sites.

Winner posted under a pseudonym, Sara Winners, but didn't seem concerned with concealing her identity, using a photo of herself as a profile picture and posting a selfie in February.
