Vijay Mallya mocks media vows to attend all team India matches at 2017 ICC Champions Trophy in England

Mallya was spotted arriving at the ball in a Rolls Royce, and sources close to the team indicated Virat Kohli and Co had no idea he had bought a table, or was among the invitees.

BCCI sources say, "Look, Virat or his foundation never invited Mallya at the function". But normally what happens at the charity dinner is that someone who has bought a table is entitled to invite his guests.

The dinner event was conducted to raise awareness and funds for those affected by human trafficking.

Virat Kohli, in his first ICC tournament as captain, had nearly the ideal start against Pakistan as India romped home to victory by 124 runs in a rain-truncated match on Sunday. Mallya's presence is one of the reason that team left early.

Mallya had earlier caused a media sensation in Birmingham by attending the India-Pakistan game, and then tweeted: "I intend to attend all games to cheer the Indian team".
