Ezekiel Elliott Suspension Could Be Reduced

National Football League appeals officer Harold Henderson is under pressure to have a decision on Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's appeal of his six-game suspension by Monday, a source told ESPN. But Roberts's recommendation was not included in the NFL's final report on the situation, and according to what a source told the Star-Telegram about today's testimony, she was barred from a meeting with commissioner Robert Goodell to discuss the league's discipline of Elliott.

Elliott was suspended for six games on August 11 for violating the league's personal conduct policy as a result of a domestic violence investigation. In a statement released by the league, Todd Jones, the NFL's Special Counsel for Conduct, said independent advisers who reviewed the evidence gathered by the league "were of the view that there is substantial and persuasive evidence supporting a finding that [Elliott] engaged in physical violence against Ms. Thompson on multiple occasions during the week of July 16, 2016". She was, however, allowed to testify at the appeals hearing, improving the chances Elliott's suspension will get reduced or overturned. Roberts was not asked to be part of that meeting, according to her testimony and that of Friel.

The pressure is now on appeals officer Harold Henderson, who is likely going to have come up with an airtight decision over the next four days.

If Elliott remains suspended after the appeal ruling, the court can decide to stay the suspension and delay it.

"According to the suit filed in U.S. District Court in Plano, just outside the Cowboys' Frisco headquarters, the NFLPA said Elliott was subject to one of "the most fundamentally unfair arbitral processes conceivable".

Google debuts AR software ARCore for Android devices
For now, only the Google Pixel smartphones and the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be able to make use of the technology once it launches. AR is a far more interesting platform than VR, if for no other reason than you don't need any additional hardware to use it.

That became glaringly evident early Friday morning when ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the NFLPA filed a temporary restraining order in Texas.

Elliott denied the allegations under oath in the appeal hearing, according to the lawsuit.

In the filing, the NFLPA alleges "there was a League-orchestrated conspiracy by senior NFL hide critical information - which would completely exonerate Elliott".

The NFL's personal conduct policy was amended three years ago to stiffen penalties in domestic cases.
