Trump Keeps Praising Response to Puerto Rico Crisis, Blasts "Politically Motivated Ingrates"

President Donald Trump tweeted about Puerto Rico saying'The electric power grid in Puerto Rico is totally shot

Trump incited outrage earlier today when he criticized the Mayor of San Juan - Carmen Yulin Cruz - and accused of her of "poor leadership".

Trumps condemnation has arrived after the mayor of Puerto Rico's capital city San Juan made a desperate plea for federal help as he asked the President to make sure somebody is in charge, who is up to the task of innocent lives. And the USA military is working with Puerto Rican officials and the island's National Guard to reach those still cut off.

Cruz, played by Melissa Villasenor, begged for help sooner, but "Trump" admonished her, "You should have paid your bills".

He responded to the mayor's criticisms by citing her "poor leadership ability", and also took aim at other officials in the USA territory who he said had not been able to "get their workers to help".

Cruz also said she and her family are staying at the Coliseum in San Juan, along with more than 600 people.

Today, the president is saying that "they" (meaning either officials or residents of Puerto Rico) are not doing enough themselves to recover from the crisis left by Hurricane Maria, and that "they want everything to be done for them". I'm begging you, Puerto Rico needs your help.

"You're going straight to hell", Miranda, who created and starred in the musical Hamilton and is of Puerto Rican descent, tweeted to the USA president Saturday.

At one point, the president urged Puerto Ricans without food, water or electricity not to "believe the Fake News!".

Nearly half the island's 3.4 million population are without drinking water, the US Defence Department said on Thursday.

"Ultimately the government of Puerto Rico will have to work with us to determine how this massive rebuilding effort. will be funded and organized, and what we will do with the tremendous amount of existing debt already on the island", Trump said on Friday.

Cruz has done multiple live interviews with TV news outlets regarding the damage the island has sustained, and has been vocal about not receiving the aid needed.

"Thank you for calling San Juan yesterday and listening for our mayday call." she said in a press conference.
