Manafort to put up Manhattan condo, Hamptons home to make bail

Paul Manafort President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman departs Federal District Court Thursday Nov. 2 2017 in Washington

President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman reached an $11 million bail agreement with prosecutors Thursday that would end the house arrest he has lived under for the past month, according to court documents.

He and his wife have handed over their passports, his lawyer said in Thursday's court filing.

According to court papers filed on Thursday, special counsel Robert Mueller's team has agreed that if Manafort posts the four properties - two in NY, one in Florida, and one in Virginia - it would be enough to ensure he doesn't flee the country or otherwise violate bail conditions.

U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson previously rejected Mr. Gates' motion to modify his conditions of release, writing that he had "not yet identified the assets he could offer as security" for his release. "The OSC has agreed that the properties posted provide the reasonable assurance required under the Bail Reform Act", Mueller's attorneys wrote.

Saeed was put under house arrest after the Mumbai terror attack in November 2008 but he was freed by court in 2009. Saeed was also seen cutting a cake and distributing candies among his supporters in celebration of his release.

He has also agreed to restrict his travel to surrounding states. He could lose the property if he violates bond, Politico reports.

In court filings, Manafort's lawyers said he had agreed not to travel internationally, or to leave Florida, New York, Virginia and Washington without permission from the court.

Prosecutors agreed with Manafort that his home detention and Global Positioning System monitoring be terminated and that he be permitted to travel on 24 hours notice between the three states where he has homes and does business and the District, and - with approval from the court - elsewhere in the United States. He turned over his three US passports to prosecutors after his arrest.

The revelations come one day after CNN reported Mueller chose to delay grand jury testimony from an associate of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn in a sign Flynn may have struck a plea bargain with Mueller's office. Manafort got additional passports to apply for visas when one was being used or believed to be lost, and traveled with a phone in his brother's name to protect the confidentiality of his clients.
