Mom boyfriend arrested in death of her 4-year-old daughter in Georgia

A MI couple wanted in the death of a four-year-old girl have been captured, according to WXYZ out of Detroit.

Come Sunday night, Gabby's family members, including her biological father and her grandparents, gathered in Sumpter Township for a candlelight vigil honoring the deceased four-year-old girl.

Police officers who responded to the scene found the toddler with "obvious" burns on her arms and legs.

She was taken to Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor by ambulance.

The Washtenaw County Medical Examiner ruled the girl's death as a homicide since there was enough evidence of multiple injuries and signs of battery on the victim's body.

Diaz and Fields are believed to be traveling in a black 2002 Chevy Cavalier with MI tag number DTR1854, police officials said.

The girl's mother, 24-year-old Candice Renea Diaz, and her boyfriend, 28-year-old Brad Edward Fields, have both been charged with felony murder, second-degree murder, and first-degree child abuse and torture. The police have urged the people to call the U.S. Marshal Detroit Fugitive Apprehension team at 313-234-5656 or the Sumpter Township Police at 734-461-4833 ext. Police were called to the Woods Mobile Home Community on January 1 for a report of an unresponsive child who had severe burns to her extremities.
