This Hawaiian Airlines Flight Took Off in 2018 and Landed in 2017

Hawaiian Airlines plane flies back in time to allow passengers celebrate new year twice

Hawaiian Airlines Flight 446 went wheels up from Auckland, New Zealand at 12:05 a.m. local time on New Year's Day before landing last year in Honolulu where it was 10:15 a.m. December 31.

For the lucky passengers on a Hawaiian Airlines flight bound for Hawaii, a do-over came much sooner.

Hawaiian Airlines flight #446 then landed in Honolulu, Hawaii at 10:16 a.m. on December 31, 2017. The International Date Line zig-zags from the North Pole to the South Pole through the sparsely populated Pacific Ocean.

Not only that Hawaiian Airlines Flight 446 appears to be quite the expert when it comes to "time travel". This means that people traveling from Auckland to Honolulu can actually travel back in time.

The agreement, which was implemented at the start of 2017, was meant to rein in the global supply glut and raise prices. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures had risen to US$61.67 a barrel by 9:22 a.m.

GoPro Cuts Hundreds of Jobs, Stock Falls 25 Percent

Honolulu is 23 hours behind Auckland, thanks to the mid-Pacific location of the global date line. Of course, the same thing can happen any time a flight leaves New Zealand and travels to Hawaii just after midnight (or anywhere else on the other side of the Date Line).

While this flight's trip gained the attention of social media users around the world, it wasn't the only one travelling back into 2017.

Meanwhile, the next scheduled flight for Hawaiian Airlines Flight 446 is set to take off on January 4 from Auckland, and will land in Hawaii on January 3.

However, it was revealed later that the flight was delayed for 10 minutes.
