Earlier this morning, we brought you the news that both X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Josh Boone's horror-tinged spinoff, The New Mutants, had relocated, with the latter now expected to hit theaters on August 2nd, 2019 - 16 months later than first scheduled.

Moving towards that February 2019 slot is X-Men: Dark Phoenix, that had been previously inked in for November 2 of this year.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix based on the classic X-Men comic series The Dark Phoenix Saga, will feature the story of the Phoenix Force inheriting Jen Grey's (Sophie Turner) body, unlocking her true power and turning her into a risky force.

"I do think that there is a great responsibility to make sure the movie is done right and that we deliver the fans something that they can all feel happy about and excited about", Taylor-Joy told The Playlist. So the studio opted to bump the release date from November 2018 to February 14, 2019 to get the cast back together and provide some additional runway for the effects work to be completed.

2018 was supposed to be a massive year for the X-Men. The film will add a few new characters to round out the movie, as well as make it scarier, overhauling the majority of the film.

Apart from the behaviour of the Bangladesh players on the field, there was more trouble following the ending of the fixture. However, one of the biggest talking points from the tri-nation T20 series had nothing to do with the gentleman's game.

The situation is a bit more hectic for "The New Mutants".

I mean, with Dark Phoenix flying to February 2019, that's a major benefit for Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, since Bohemian Rhapsody will only open to a fraction of what Dark Phoenix does. The original version of the film was directed by Josh Boone.

As for The New Mutants, it's apparently been delayed because it's not scary enough. While this new release date still falls within the awards season window, it shows a lack of confidence in the movie's ability to compete during the holidays.

Since then there have been reports that a new character was being added. It will now arrive on August 2, 2019.
