The deal sends Bennett and a seventh-round pick to the Eagles in exchange for wide receiver Marcus Johnson and a fifth-round pick.

They had a great run with the likes of Bennett and other fearsome players on one of the league's most formidable defenses.

With the Seahawks' defensive core aging, ailing from injuries, and coming up on contract years, the Seahawks may be headed toward a tear-down.

Moving forward, coach Pete Carroll and new defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. face a tough task trying to figure out which player or committee of players will fill the void left by Bennett's departure.

Bennett appeared to confirm the news with a tweet. Bennett joins Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham and Derek Barnett as terrific pass rushers along the Eagles' defensive line.
