Accused Toronto serial killer Bruce McArthur has been charged with a seventh count of first-degree murder, as police announced that the remains of three of his alleged victims have now been identified.

As of Wednesday, authorities were still trying to identify some of the human remains found in planters at a Toronto property McArthur used as storage for his landscaping business, according to the Associated Press.

Later that month, Mr. McArthur was charged with the first-degree murder of Majeed Kayhan, Soroush Mahmudi, and Dean Lisowick.

Idsinga said police are now re-examining 15 cold cases dating back as far as 1975 in their investigation. -Sgt. Hank Idsinga'd stated.

Idsinga said the remains of all but Mahmudi have been identified among those recovered from the planters at the central Toronto home.

"For me at least there's a sense of relief because he didn't abandon anyone". Including Faizi, all seven men vanished between 2010 and 2017.

Investigators believe McArthur met his modern-day victims in Toronto's Gay Village neighborhood through dating apps. Faizi's wife divorced him, thinking he abandoned her and their two young daughters. He says police also plan to investigate 75 properties linked to McArthur starting next month. The three are South Asian or Middle Eastern and frequented gay bars in Toronto's Gay Village.

Mr. McArthur, who has also been charged with the deaths of Mr. Navaratnam and Mr. Kayhan, was interviewed as a part of Project Houston.

McArthur is facing murder expenses related for their deaths. His auto was found abandoned not far from McArthur's home. Police believe Faizi knew McArthur prior to his death.

McArthur, who appeared wearing an orange jumpsuit, spoke in court only to say his name and acknowledge that he understood the charges against him. McArthur has not entered a plea.

On Wednesday, Idsinga also released an enhanced version of a photograph of a man believed to be another one of McArthur's alleged victims.

"To date over 500 tips have come in from various sources", Idsinga said.

Toronto police are also seeking the public's assistance in identifying another potential victim, whose graphic photo was released on March 5.
