On April 25, 1915, thousands of troops from the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) landed on the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey, where they fought under their own flags for the first time.

The bus carrying Australians and a group of 15 New Zealanders was making its way from the Turkish city of Izmir to Gallipoli for the Anzac day commemorations.

Later in the day there will be a procession, followed by a service at Westminster Abbey.
