'Homeland' Will End After Season 8, According To Claire Danes

The Homeland actress revealed that she is pregnant with her second child on Howard Stern's SiriusXM show on Wednesday. Danes' comments don't leave a lot of wiggle room about her readiness to move on from the role of Carrie Mathison, and there's no Homeland without Carrie Mathison. "It's a workout, so I'll be ready for a reprieve from that".

Danes added that she had never been involved with a project as long as she has been with Homeland, with the only other commitment she's maintained so long being her marriage to actor Hugh Dancy. "And it's not just that", she said, according to E!

Claire Danes says she has loved working on Homeland, but she is ready for it to end.

Danes, who is now well into her second trimester, said, "I was pregnant during the first trimester, which is kind of my least favorite phase because you just feel frightful".

Claire Danes, the star of covert ops series "Homeland" has just announced that the show is about to end after the completion of Season 8 in 2019.
