Following a dose of heavy snow over the northern tier and a bout of strong winds around the Great Lakes early this weekend, a weak storm tracking farther south will bring a wintry mix along the Interstate 64 and 70 corridors during Easter Sunday and Sunday night. About 4.8 inches of snow fell in Central Park on Monday morning, well above the average April monthly snow total of 0.6 inches.

Up to 12.8 inches of snow was reported Saturday morning in near Bruno, Minnesota. And while road conditions aren't expected to completely deteriorate in this area, visibility was less than a mile in many locations early this morning. While temperatures for tomorrow's game are expected to be in the mid-40s, you'll want to wear rain gear as showers are expected for much of the day. Less than a half-inch of snow is expected.

The most snow our area ever received on April 1 was 4.3 inches, a record set in 1962.

"Nearly all the model runs from the past three days have consistently said that this system will have an impact on us here in CT to some degree, suggesting snow for the morning ride", said meteorologist Scot Haney.

The following counties have a Winter Weather Advisory in effect: Adams, Butler, Cass, Clay, Franklin, Hall, Hamilton, Howard, Kearney, Merrick, Nance, Nuckolls, Polk, Webster and York county.

Snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches are possible with higher localized amounts of 8 inches or higher closer to the Minnesota border.

Monday afternoon the snow will end and start melting as the temperatures rise with partly sunny skies.

Snowfall totals on Sunday will be 1 to 3 inches along I-70 from Kansas City to Indianapolis, with isolated higher totals. A WINTER STORM WATCH has been issued for tonight through Tuesday night for the entire area except Iron and Ashland counties.

It could be much worse in northern Wisconsin, with the Weather Service forecasting up to a foot of snow in Wausau through Tuesday night.
