North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un Visits China Again, Meets Xi Jinping

North Korea state media said Mr Kim had told Mr Xi to continue their close relationship.

After news of the meeting between the two leaders was released, Trump announced that he would be speaking to "my friend" Xi on Tuesday.

"President Trump affirmed his commitment to ensuring that the trade and investment relationship between the United States and China is balanced and benefits American businesses and workers".

They had blared South Korean pop songs anti-Pyongyang broadcasts.

Xi and Kim both pointed out that since their initial summit there had been "positive progress" not only in China-North Korea relations, but in the general situation on the Korean Peninsula. The Trump administration has demanded that North Korea immediately commit to denuclearization.

The latest encounter in China comes before a scheduled meeting between North Korea and the US. In retaliation, the North had sent over balloons carrying anti-South leaflets, along with starting their own broadcasts. We are also impressed by the fact that Kim had his second summit with Xi in Dalian, where the first China-built aircraft carrier will embark on a test voyage later this month.

NHK television showed images of two planes taking off from the northeastern port city of Dalian, one belonging to North Korea's Air Koryo, and another used by high-profile officials from Pyongyang. "And with the help of China, South Korea, and Japan, a future of great prosperity and security can be achieved for everyone".

According to South Korea, Kim says he's willing to give up his nukes if the United States commits to a formal end to the Korean War and pledges not to attack the North.

Some analysts have said China also wants to keep its influence on North Korea amid diplomatic efforts by Seoul and Washington to ease tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

The demilitarized zone, or DMZ, between North and South Korea, and Singapore are believed to be the most likely contenders for the venue.

Trump has said that withdrawing US forces from South Korea is "not on the table".

Throughout the day on Tuesday there was speculation on Chinese websites that a North Korean leader was in China, though China's foreign ministry said earlier it had no information and Chinese state media did not carry any reports.

The Chinese President is reportedly planning a trip to the North Korean capital Pyongyang, an official told CNN in April, but no date has been announced as yet.
