The Tinder Fire Has Forced Evacuations In The Clear Creek Area

The Tinder Fire burning in northeastern Arizona caused evacuations on Sunday

Coconino County Emergency Management (CCEM) has activated an Emergency Operations Center in support of the Tinder Fire.

The Flagstaff Fire Department and firefighters from the Coconino National Forest battled a quarter-acre brush fire near the 300 block of Bennett Drive Monday morning.

The wildfires are now spreading to the east and west of Highway 87, which could affect areas such as Moquis Ranchettes, Timber Ranch, Tamarron, Pine Canyon, #Blue Ridge Estates, Mogollon Ranch, Ponderosa Pines, Starlight Pines, and Clear Creek. If an evacuation occurs, CCEM has coordinated with the American Red Cross and set-up a shelter at the Winslow Junior High School, 1100 N. Colorado Ave.
