A Favorite Has Emerged For Soon-To-Be Free Agent Dwight Howard

LeBron James’s move wasn’t entirely about basketball

StubHub, the online ticket exchange, told it saw an unprecedented jump in visits to its Lakers page on Sunday - the day James agreed to his four-year contract - compared to both the last 30 days and 2017's first day of National Basketball Association free agency.

It's worth asking because, in the past, those players' relationships with James have ranged from occasional irritants to outright nemeses.

Clearly there is no rush for him to take the Lakers, one of the NBA's most storied franchises, from a low ebb to a title.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were never going to win the NBA Finals. He spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Cavs before taking his talents to South Beach to play with the Miami Heat in 2010.

LeBRON JAMES has completed his stunning switch to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Celtics come out of the weekend sitting third on the National Basketball Association championship odds at +510, well ahead of the 76ers, who have tumbled to +1425 after failing to attract James to the City of Brotherly Love, while the Cavaliers have made a massive drop to a distant +50000.

Germany is the third straight World Cup holder to exit early
In the other game in the group, leaders Mexico keep an unchanged team from the side that defeated South Korea in the second match. South Korea then stunned the world by defeating Germany 2-0 with two goals in the final minutes of the game.

El-Hadary: I apologise to Egyptian fans
He became the first player to be sent off for the World Cup hosts since Itumeleng Khune's red card for South Africa in 2010. He broke clear on goal but, after drawing Al Mosailem, uncharacteristically dinked wide of the right-hand post.

Cristiano Ronaldo explains why he's growing a beard during World Cup 2018
France are probably the most talented side at this World Cup , but under manager Didier Deschamps they've never really gelled. Ronaldo, with his fourth goal of the tournament, is now the most prolific European goal scorer at worldwide level.

It wasn't long before the city of Los Angeles, along with many favorite celebrities, started celebrating on social media to welcome James, 33, to the city and the Lakers. James' decision left a power vacuum in the Eastern Conference.

The Lakers were already viewed as a heavy contender to sign James this offseason, and according to Sports Illustrated's Lee Jenkins, James and his agent and advisors had been speaking at length about his options. Pairing Leonard with LeBron could force the Lakers to break up part of their young core.

That would be a hefty price to pay, particularly as the Lakers would have to try and fill out their rosters around LeBron and Leonard. They traded for J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert, and Timofey Mozgov months into the 2014-15 season when the team got off to a slow start.

But with James out of town, it looks like Love will be the topic of serious trade talk in the coming days.
