Strong, severe thunderstorms expected Tuesday afternoon

Today: Partly sunny, possible afternoon/evening storms. A lot of lighting would be likely from storms but heavy rains and small hail are also a strong possibility. The chance of thunderstorms will continue until Thursday night, forecasters said. Highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.

Late day showers and storms will primarily be near I-94 or along and on east of US-131. Up to an inch of rain is expected in most southern areas, with high amounts expected in areas where the storm is especially intense.

Temperatures overnight will drop into the mid-60s, with skies clearing up.

The main impact from these storms will be very heavy, torrential downpours, potentially causing some localized flash flooding.

That means a chance for a showers and thunderstorms straight through the weekend, with highs in the low to mid 80s.
