A man deliberately drove a vehicle into London pedestrians and cyclists on Tuesday before ramming it into barriers outside Britain's parliament in what police said appeared to be the second terrorist attack at the building in just under 18 months.

"The driver of the vehicle, a man in his late 20s, was arrested at the scene by armed officers".

-Pedestrians and cyclists have been injured but the exact number is not yet known.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said two people were treated at the scene "for injuries that are not believed to be serious" and they have been taken to hospital.

The Met Police confirmed one man has been arrested following the incident at around 7:37am. Images from Sky News and social media showed a man in a puffy black jacket who was surrounded by officers before being handcuffed and led away from a silver auto.

She said: "I was walking on the other side [of the road]".

"All Londoners, like me, utterly condemn all acts of terrorism on our city", he said. When he got to the scene, he staked out Westminster before smashing his auto.

Another witness, BBC employee Barry Williams, says he heard screams and then saw the auto plow into a group of cyclists waiting at a traffic light before accelerating toward the barrier.

Three people were injured when a Ford Fiesta crashed into barriers outside Parliament, with armed police swooping in to arrest the driver, the police force said.

The suspect arrested after following yesterday's Westminster terror attack has been named as Salih Khater.

"I was told to move and started to run", he said. Police appealed to the public to stay away, and the Westminster subway station was closed.
