Liverpool move above Manchester United as bookies favorite for attacker

The club have withdrawn the offer of a new deal meaning that he is likely to leave.

According to the London Evening Standard's James Olley, both Liverpool and United are considering taking advantage of the prospect of Arsenal losing Ramsey for free in the summer by making a January bid. The Welshman's contract with the Gunners expires at the end of the season, leaving them in the same situation as with Alexis Sanchez.

"Everything has been going great with the club", he said.

Arsenal may be tempted to cash in on Ramsey, rather than lose the 27-year-old for nothing at the end of his contract.

"I don't really know what's happening at Arsenal".

Ramsey isn't going to be short of offers, however, with AC Milan, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all keeping tabs on him during this season.

Arsenal handed Mesut Ozil a contract worth a reported £350,000 a week back in February to make the former Germany worldwide the highest paid player in their history.

Ramsey has become the latest big-name player who has let their contract run down at Arsenal in order to secure a well-paid move to a rival club.

Liverpool too were thought to make enquiries about Ramsey in the summer, but Arsenal rejected those moves as Emery wanted to assess the squad he inherited from Arsene Wenger.

The Gunners will take on Leicester City in their next top flight fixture at the Emirates Stadium after the global break.

The attacking midfielder has most recently been nursing a groin strain, but should be available for selection for the Reds' next game against Huddersfield Town in the Premier League.
