Trump raises doubts about Kavanaugh accusers after latest DOJ referral

The head of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday asked federal authorities to investigate a woman who made false sexual-assault claims against US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

"A vicious accuser of Justice Kavanaugh has just admitted that she was lying, her story was totally made up, or FAKE!" he wrote in a tweet on Saturday.

The upcoming Brett Kavanaugh investiture ceremony, the customary recognition of his place on the U.S. Supreme Court, is going to break tradition "due to security concerns", the Supreme Court has announced. What about the others?

"Under questioning by Committee investigators, Ms. Munro-Leighton admitted, contrary to her prior claims, that she had not been sexually assaulted by Judge Kavanaugh", Grassley wrote in a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Christopher Wray, describing her as a left-wing activist who was "decades older than Judge Kavanaugh". But after being interviewed by Senate investigators, she recanted, USA Today reported.

Grassley referred a man whose name is redacted from the report for criminal investigation after he admitted on Twitter to fabricating the allegations against Kavanaugh. One might infer that the misconduct allegations had the ulterior objective of dispatching Kavanaugh without the bloody mess of a physical assassination.

The allegations came amid a number of other stories from women, including Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who claimed Kavanaugh had assaulted them when they were in high school or college.

Throughout the process, Kavanaugh - a married father of two daughters and a highly respected judge on the Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit - vehemently denied all such accusations and maintained his innocence. "It is illegal to obstruct Committee investigations".

It's unclear who wrote the first Jane Doe letter.

Former England manager Glenn Hoddle seriously ill after collapsing at TV studio
The Hayes-born former Chelsea manager, who also played for the Blues and later had a spell coaching at QPR, now works as a pundit. Former England manager Glenn Hoddle is "responding well" to treatment after being taken to hospital on Saturday.

His letter also noted, "In short, during the Committee's time-sensitive investigation of allegations against Judge Kavanaugh, Ms. Munro-Leighton submitted a fabricated allegation, which diverted Committee resources".

On October 3, Munro-Leighton sent an email to Committee staff identifying herself.

Said Trump: "One of his [Kavanaugh's] false accusers just came out, a little while ago, and said it's all a lie. she made up the lie".

"I was angry and I sent it out", she reportedly said. "I am not Jane Doe".

Subsequently, Committee investigators began looking into Munro-Leighton's allegations.

The report added: "Indeed, the evidence appears to support the position that Julie Swetnick and [her attorney Michael] Avenatti criminally conspired to make materially false statements to the Committee and obstruct the Committee's investigation".

"Such acts are not only unfair; they are potentially illegal", Grassley stressed. The subject line of the email read, "I am Jane Doe from Oceanside CA - Kavanaugh raped me".
