A self-described "dirty trickster" with a taste for loud suits and colorful language, Stone, 66, has known Trump since the late 1970s when Stone, a young veteran of Richard Nixon's 1972 re-election team, was campaigning for another Republican candidate, Ronald Reagan, and courting supporters for his campaign in NY.

Trump calls the Russian Federation investigation a "witch hunt".

Stone was an early Trump backer whose reputation as an aggressive political operative and self-proclaimed "dirty trickster" dates back to the Watergate scandal of the 1970s when he was working for Richard Nixon.

For decades, Stone kept turning up in the centre of political controversies.

While Nunberg also suggested that the official may have been Rick Gates, Steve Bannon or Paul Manafort, the possibility that this official may have been Donald Trump himself, surprised many viewers.

Stone had predicted his own arrest for months, trying to raise money for his defence online while making sure to stay in Trump's good graces, perhaps with an eye on a presidential pardon down the road. Stone has urged Trump to run for president since 1988, was chairman of his 2000 presidential exploratory committee and was a consultant when Trump considered running in 2012.

An old friend of Donald Trump, Roger Stone has worked on Republican political campaigns since the 1970s.

"After the July 22, 2016, release of stolen (Democratic National Committee) emails by Organization 1, a senior Trump Campaign official was directed to contact STONE about any additional releases and what other damaging information Organization 1 had regarding the Clinton Campaign", according to the indictment.

Stone said the raid was an "overreach" by Mueller, and was concerned about the impact it had on his wife and his dogs. "Hillary Clinton doesn't have that strength and stamina". Stone isn't implicated in any conspiracy with WikiLeaks or the Russian government, and neither is anyone else in the campaign. "#CrookedHillary." In October, WikiLeaks released thousands of emails hacked from Podesta's Gmail account. His case will be transferred to Washington, D.C.

The head of the Serie A, Gaetano Micciche, defended the decision to play in Saudi Arabia as an historic one. Duvan Zapata scored one and set up the other just as the match seemed to be heading for extra time .

Flaherty said Stone's role in Trump's election has been exaggerated.

At this point, Reid interjected to ask, "Could it be Donald Trump?". "The other, I think very real possibility, is he just finds a cover-up".

"That's a question I'll have to determine after my attorneys have some discussion if there's wrongdoing by other people in the campaign that I know about, which I know of none", Stone replied.

"It's clear that Mueller's work is not yet done", Adam Schiff, the Democratic chair of the House intelligence committee, said in a separate interview on ABC.

The worlds of Trump and Stone first collided in the 90s, when the future president was still a property mogul with a string of casinos that would soon file for bankruptcy.

And he is accused of "corruptly" persuading one of his associates, NY radio host Randy Credico, not to testify before the House intelligence committee in an effort to hide Stone's false statements.

Prosecutors say Stone lied during his September 26, 2017, testimony before the House intelligence committee about his interactions regarding WikiLeaks and his communications with the Trump campaign.

He faces one count of obstruction of proceedings, one count of witness tampering, and five counts of false statements.

If the goal of the special counsel's office was to show that the Trump campaign in the final weeks of the 2106 campaign was interested in finding out as much information as it could about weaknesses in the Hillary Clinton campaign, it appears Mueller's suspicions were correct.
