A status hearing was scheduled for February 1.

Stone was arrested on January 25 during an early morning raid at his home in Florida and released hours later on $250,000 bond.

Stone, who is free on a $250,000 bond, has accused Mueller of "a raw abuse of power".

Stone's indictment cut deeply into Trump's inner circle and revealed a link between his campaign and WikiLeaks, the online publisher of secret documents, to damage Clinton with material that USA intelligence agencies have said was stolen by Russians.

The longtime confidant to President Trump - who was arrested during a dramatic pre-dawn raid last week following his indictment in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation - compared himself to bin Laden while talking to reporters outside his Fort Lauderdale, Fla., home.

Roger Stone pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges he lied to Congress about his communications pertaining to the stolen Democratic emails published by WikiLeaks during the 2016 campaign. Instead, it accuses him of witness tampering, obstruction, and false statements about his interactions related to WikiLeaks.

On Friday, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders reacted to the Stone news by stating the arrest had nothing to do with the president.

He was uncharacteristically quiet during Tuesday's brief court appearance, rising to his feet to say, "Yes, Your Honor", as U.S. Magistrate Judge Deborah Robinson asked if he would agree to the conditions of his release, including restricted travel. "But the Federal Bureau of Investigation agents were extraordinarily courteous".

In his comments to Fox with Judge Andrew Napolitano, Stone kept the focus on his arrest.

Stone is the latest Trump associate charged criminally for various charges, which have included lying to Congress or the Federal Bureau of Investigation, bank and tax fraud, and failing to register as a foreign agent for lobbying purposes.

Stone served as an adviser to Trump for years before Trump ran for president.

In 2015, he was on board as Trump launched his bid for president as a Republican, but left the campaign under unclear circumstances in August that year, soon after Corey Lewandowski took over as campaign chair. Instead, he merely shared his recollection of their phone conversation, which he also recounts in his book, Silent No More: How I Became a Political Prisoner of Mueller's 'Witch Hunt. Those charged include Mr Trump's former campaign chairman and deputy campaign chairman, former national security adviser and his former personal lawyer. The congressman minimized the charges Stone is facing and referred to the potential crimes as "process fouls".

"Oh, no, that wasn't a question", said Stone. Manafort, Gates and Flynn are awaiting sentencing.
