Jayme Closs teenager missing since October whose parents were murdered found alive

Nearly three months after 13-year-old Jayme Closs went missing, a 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with kidnapping her and killing her parents.

Jake Patterson was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of kidnapping, Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald told reporters at a news conference on Friday.

Jayme had approached Kasinskas' neighbor - the woman police say was walking her dog - Thursday afternoon.

The woman, who asked the newspaper not to use her name, said she was almost certain it was Jayme, having seen her photo on the news and posters around Wisconsin. Authorities also dismiss a tip placing Jayme's whereabouts in Miami as "not credible", and say they believe the girl is in danger.

The Wisconsin man suspected of kidnapping a girl and killing her parents took steps to hide his identity as he held the teen captive for months, Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said Friday.

Another of Jayme's aunts, Jennifer Smith, pleaded with those who knew where the girl was to contact the sheriff's department.

Jayme taken to a hospital where she was medically cleared and is being interviewed by authorities. She asks people to continue to pray for "Jayme's well-being and our families healing".

Gordon is located around 100km north of Barron, Closs's hometown. She said the school was surprised and saddened to learn he was the suspect.
