Marcus Rashford wants to sign new Man Utd deal after Solskjaer appointment

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has signed a three-year deal with Manchester United

Understandably, Solskjaer's permanent appointment at Old Trafford went down extremely well with Manchester United supporters who have seen their side transform overnight following the arrival of the Norwegian.

Solskjaer is a former United player with 126 goals in 366 appearances.

The Norwegian's back-room staff is expected to stay as it is with his assistant Mike Phelan, brought back to the club with Solskjaer in December, now in contract talks.

Solskajer can begin planning for the future as he looks to win the Premier League with United, which hasn't been English champion since 2013, the past year of Alex Ferguson.

Solskjaer's arrival, after cancelling his contract as coach of Norwegian outfit Molde, was created to restore a feel-good factor at the club, but while results immediately improved - Solskjaer won his first eight games in charge - it was his impact behind the scenes that most impressed Woodward and the Glazers.

"The players who get complacent, they never last at this club anyway", he said.

United return to Premier League action when they host Watford on Saturday afternoon, buoyed by the news that Solskjaer has signed a three-year deal.

But Solskjaer has changed the mood and the landscape at United.

Special counsel Robert Mueller completes investigation
I think the public has the right to know, especially given all the time, money, and drama associated with Mueller's investigation. The prospect of no further indictments could present a massive boon to President Trump and many of those surrounding him.

"From the first day I arrived, I felt at home at this special club", said Solskjaer.

The talk of executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and their need for a Director of Sport has gone quiet over the last few months, but Manchester United are now in the flawless position to set up a world class structure to support their new full-time manager.

"Now we've given ourselves a great chance to be in the top four, even the top three", said Solskjaer yesterday. "The last few months have been a fantastic experience".

A win for Man United vs Watford would mean they would momentarily regain that fourth spot on the table until Arsenal take on Newcastle United on Monday.

Solskjaer also made history as he handed a debut to youngster Mason Greenwood who at 17 became the youngest ever player to appear for United in the Champions League, taking that particular record from Gerard Pique.

"United is a club that has money, and that has to be spent in a reasonable way", the Red Devils boss told Norwegian media.

He also believes that making people at the club happy has been a key part of Solskjaer's job.

"There is a lot of hard work still to do in the coming months and years to get Man Utd back to where it was before", warned Neville.
