The household a Minnesota man who died when an Ethiopian Airlines airplane crashed last month has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Boeing, the maker of the 737 Max aircraft which was included in the wreck and is now being investigated by US prosecutors.

Boeing Co's legal troubles grew on Tuesday as a new lawsuit accused the company of defrauding shareholders by concealing safety deficiencies in its 737 MAX planes before two fatal crashes led to their worldwide grounding.

- A class action lawsuit has been filed against Boeing on behalf a Minnesota man who died in the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash last month. Two crashes, one in October past year and another last month, killed 346 people and led to the grounding of the aircraft worldwide.

The Chinese carrier expects the investigation of the Boeing 737 MAX to be finalized soon. Boeing delivered just 11 MAX in March before the suspension. Meanwhile, airlines that own the almost 400 grounded Max jets are canceling flights.

Speaking at an aviation conference in Atlanta, Bastian said Delta was "very interested" in Boeing's proposed new midsized airplane, though he said the world's largest planemaker was focusing first on dealing with the crisis surrounding the MAX.

Many analysts believe the deliveries will only be delayed, not lost forever, unless airlines cancel orders for the plane.

Despite Boeing winning orders for 44 planes, including three business-jet versions of the 737, there were no commercial models among them, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, nearly a month after Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crashed shortly after take-off.

The groundings forced Boeing to freeze deliveries of the 737 Max, which had been its fastest-selling aircraft.

The latest variant of Boeing's 737 family, which makes up the bulk of its narrow-body production, has been viewed as the likely workhorse for global airlines for decades and central to Boeing's long-running battle against Airbus.

Shares of Chicago-based Boeing fell $5.48, or 1.5%, to close at $369.04.

"Spirit and Boeing have agreed to work together to minimize the disruption to Spirit operations and the supply chain", said Spirit AeroSystems CEO Tom Gentile.

Also on Tuedsday, American Airlines trimmed its first-quarter forecast for unit revenue as it cancelled hundreds of flights during the period, mainly due to the groundings of its 24 Max planes, according to Reuters.
